Queen of Peace Community (Bazar Road, Boran Road & Bazar Cross Lane)

Welcome to the Queen of Peace Community, a vibrant and newly unified family within the St. Peter’s Parish. Bringing together the rich legacies, traditions, and dedicated residents of two long-standing historical sectors—the former Mary Help of Christians zone (Bazar Road) and the Queen of Peace zone (Boran and Bazar Cross Road)—we now move forward as one single, dynamic heartbeat in the grassroots of our parish.
Our Heritage: Roots of Faith & Service
Our combined community traces its spiritual ancestry all the way back to the very inception of the Basic Christian Communities (BCC) in Mumbai in 1980. Decades ago, early residents stepped up to extend Christ’s love to the neighbourhood by pioneering academic support for underprivileged children at St. Sebastian’s Hall. Over the years, guided by the Jesuit fathers of St. Peter’s and the sisters of St. Joseph’s Convent, our streets have consistently been known for their infectious energy, deep-rooted faith, and willingness to participate in church-wide events.
Bringing Life to the Community
As a single, consolidated Small Human Community, our goal remains clear: to live out our mission of “Building Human Community” by fostering deep connections across generations and backgrounds. We do this through a tapestry of year-round social, spiritual, and outreach ministries:
- Honouring Our Seniors: Our monthly senior citizen get-togethers are a cornerstone of our community life, filling an evening with prayer, classic oldies, and joyous fellowship for our elders.
- Youth & Faith in Action: Guided by an energetic youth group and dedicated animators, we continue beloved traditions like our walking pilgrimages to the Mount, Lenten Stations of the Cross at St. Joseph’s Chapel, house blessings, and our lively annual zonal masses and fellowship quizzes.
- Spreading the Cheer: From stitching traditional flags for the feast of Christ the King to bringing the neighbourhood together with Christmas carol singing and festive block get-togethers, we thrive on community participation.
- Reaching Out: True to our dual patronages, we step outside our boundaries to touch lives, regularly coordinating outreach programs to homes like St. Catherine’s and supporting mission causes.
Looking Forward Together
By merging our paths, the Queen of Peace Community is stronger, more collaborative, and ready to face the future. We continue to build bridges of mutual support, ensuring that no home in our lanes is left uncared for, and that the light of faith shines bright on Boran Road, Bazar Road, and Bazar Cross Road.
Whether you are a new resident or have lived in these lanes for generations, you have a home and a voice here. Come, join us in animating our neighbourhood with love and purpose!
