The Jesuit Community thanks you for your prayers and greetings on the Feast of St. Ignatius, our Founder. This is a special year for us, as we remember the 500th Anniversary of the Cannonball Moment in the life of Ignatius. We hope you found the Triduum of reflections in preparation for the Feast to be spiritually enriching and meaningful. The YouTube sessions will still be available on the Parish YouTube channel for those who were unable to view them.
Today the Archdiocese celebrates Prison Ministry Day. We remember the 8-month excruciating experience of Fr. Stan Swamy in Taloja Jail, after which he succumbed to illness in Judicial Custody while in hospital. We know the conditions of neglect that under-trails are subjected to, even though they may have never been convicted inspite of months and years in jail. We pray for those in Prison Ministry and we hope that their efforts will bring dignity to the lives of prisoners. Your financial support to this Ministry is welcome through cheques directly to their account or to the Parish, with explicit instructions regarding the intention of the donor.
On Monday 2nd Aug we celebrate the Feast of St. Peter Faber, one of the original companions of Ignatius with whom he founded the Society of Jesus and who was acknowledged by Ignatius as the most skilled in giving the Spiritual Exercises.
On Wednesday 4th Aug we celebrate the Feast of St. John Mary Vianney, Patron of Diocesan Parish Priests. We pray for all those in the Parish Ministry, especially in our Archdiocese and in the Bandra Deanery.
Friday 6th Aug, is the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord and also First Friday. The Jesuits of our Parish will be available for Holy Communion to the Housebound and to others in each Zonal Community. Please contact the coordinator of your community.
