Today we celebrate Prison Ministry Sunday. Your support for this Ministry is invited. Envelopes will be available in the Lobby for donations to the Archdiocesan Prison Ministry.
At every Mass this weekend, a member of the Parish Youth will share on their contribution to the Parish, after the Communion. We listen to the voices of our Young People.
The Social Outreach Cell is organizing “Dhanyavad” – a program of Fun and Fellowship for Domestic Workers in Bandra, this Sunday 14th August at 5.00 pm in St. Peter’s KG Hall. Registration is needed.
Monday 15th August is Independence Day and the Solemnity of the Assumption of our Lady. Masses on Mon 15th will be as for Sundays, including the anticipated Masses on the 14th evening at 6.45 and 7.45 pm. There will be no 6.00 pm Sunday evening Mass.
The 10 am Mass on the 15th will be celebrated in the Indian Liturgical style by Fr. Aubrey.
There will be the formal hoisting of the Flag at 8.45 am in the St. Peter’s Square. We also invite you to a 45 minute Celebration of the 75th Year of India’s Independence at 6.00 pm in the Assembly Hall. A well known human rights speaker, Dr. Ram Puniyani, will give us a 20 minute exposition of the Preamble to the Indian Constitution. We urge you to take the trouble to come.
The YSS and Holy Family Hospital will organize a Blood Donation Drive on Monday 15th August, from 8.00 am to 12 noon in the Loyola Hall. The YSS also invites stationery and Art supplies for the tribal Schools in the Talasari area. Deposit these in the YSS room during the week.
The Stop Gaps invite you to Sounds of Freedom on the 15th of August in the St. Andrew’s Auditorium.
The Students of St. Xavier’s College have revived their Yardsale, as part of the Malhar Festival. The items for sale will be available in St. Peter’s Square after each of the Sunday Masses on the 14th. Proceeds of the Sale will go to Ashagad.
