Notices for Sunday, 5th December 2021

  • Post category:Notices
  • The Sundays in Advent give us the opportunity to increase our longing for an intimacy with God. This week ahead we celebrate the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of our Lady on Wed the 8th. We also celebrate International Anti-Corruption Day on the 9th and Human Rights Day on Fri the 10th – two very important remembrances for our world. Let’s reflect on the many forms of corruption which are destroying the lives of millions and on the need to protect human rights which are under attack even from those mandated to enforce them. Our prayers and action will make a difference!
  • Applications to the Junior KG for St. Joseph’s Convent School -SSC, St. Stanislaus International School – IGCSE and St. Stanislaus High School – SSC are presently invited online. Please check the respective websites. Applications to the Nursery and Junior KG in the Carmel Pre-Primary will be accepted online from the 15th to the 31th of Dec.
  • This Wednesday 8th Dec, the Searching the Scriptures session will be taken by Fr. Fio Mascarenhas S.J. on the Theme: Mary in the Scriptures. This will be streamed on the YouTube Channel from 7.40 to 8.20 pm.
  • The Parish Council will meet online this Fri 10th Dec at 8.00 pm.
  • The Archdiocese requests your support to the Advent Campaign against Hunger and Disease. The Centre for Social Action focuses on relief to those affected by the Covid Pandemic. Donation envelopes are available in the Church.
  • Our Parish is a Collection Centre for any solid waste that can be recycled: we already have an Electronic Waste Bin and a Bin for Tetra Packs. We add a special Bin for any type of plastic. Please do not throw these items in the regular Garbage Bins as they only add to the Garbage Dumps of the City which are overflowing. Would you consider it your religious duty to conserve God’s wonderful creation?
  • We also remind you that our Parish recommends Shroud Burials. Please discuss this in your families and make a resolution to be buried only in a shroud, like Jesus was – the most dignified way of returning to the earth.
