This organization of the Parish is run by a Committee made up of about 20 volunteers from the Parish and beyond. It spearheads programmes for the disadvantaged.
Its main activity is holding a training session every Sunday morning for differently abled children from different parts of Mumbai, from about 30 to 50 of them. Cultural activities supplement the sessions by a specialized trainer. These sessions are physical sessions in our Parish Hall and they were even held online during the pandemic. The volunteers show a commitment of an extraordinary type and are rewarded by the joyful smile of the differently abled children and the gratitude of their parents.
The Social Outreach Cell also organizes periodic programmes for domestic workers in Bandra, about twice or thrice a year, with cultural programmes and input sessions. About 100 workers take advantage of these sessions.
The Social Outreach Cell also holds sessions at each home of the housebound in the Parish, with haircuts and manicure offered to them. The housebound are also brought to Church twice a year for a Mass for the Sick at Easter and Christmas. Arrangements are made by the SOC members.
The SOC has also been involved in the Dandiya programmes organized by the Parish in collaboration with the Multi-Faith Committee of the Parish. These events have seen more than 200 people enjoying the harmony of the dance and the fellowship with people of different faiths.
