St. Peter’s Church – Bandra runs a Health Cell that has been catering to the healthcare needs of the underprivileged of society for the past 73 years.
This cell was the brainchild of Dr. Alfred Camilo Rebello an outstanding doctor known for his generous and philanthropic contributions to society. A pillar of St. Peter’s Church Bandra, Dr. Rebello founded the St. Peter’s Skin Clinic in 1946 to cater to the needs of the poor and middle class of greater Bombay; every Thursday for the next 25 years he would devote the day attending to patients here. Thanks to this glorious past and magnificent contribution, St. Peter’s is proud of its Health Cell that serves over 200 new patients annually.
The cell presently has doctors catering to key medical services like homeopathy, orthopedics, dermatology, ENT, dentistry, physiotherapy and general medical services. It conducts regular camps and seminars to promote healthcare and serve the less privileged with love and compassion. The Cell is ably supported by a host of volunteers who have been serving the Cell for years.
